Senior Cycle

After Junior Certificate students can either do Transition Year or go directly into Fifth Year.

At Senior cycle (Fifth and Sixth Year) all students study:
Irish, English, Mathematics and one continental language i.e. French/Spanish/German. Students also follow programmes in Religious Education, Physical Education, Career Guidance, Computer Education and Speech and Drama.

Optional Subjects of which students pick three.

  • Home Economics Social & Scientific

  • Physics
  • Technology


All subjects offered at Higher and Ordinary Level
Students may also do the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme

At senior and junior level students and parents have the support and advice of the following specialists:
Guidance Counsellors: Kieran Corcoran/Brid Hughes
School Chaplain: Mr Nigel Kerrigan
Special Education: Mary Douglas

The students through the curriculum outlined above are further facilitated by a comprehensive Parent Liaison Programme which comprises:

Parent/Year Head meetings (if required)
Parent/teacher meetings
A series of talks/ lectures on topics/ issues of concern to students and parents.
