Cross Country Leinster Finals
Well done to all athletes who ran in the Leinster Finals in Santry on Wed 8 Feb for cross country. It was a great achievement to get to that stage as only 12 teams from all of Leinster qualified for each race. Well Done girls!!!

All Ireland School’s Quarter Final – 4th February 2012
This game took place in The Mardyke Grounds in Cork. Both teams had a strong line-up having both come through their respective championships and nobody could predict who could win this encounter. St.Wolstan’s lined out in white jerseys while St.Aloysuis’ wore blue and yellow. St.Wolstan’s got off to a flying start with a point from full forward Gillian Keegan. St.Wolstan’s advantage didn’t last long as St.Aloysuis’ managed to shoot 3 goals into the Wolstan’s net during the first half along with 3 well-taken points. Wolstan’s still showed alot of determination with points from centre forward Emer Reilly[2] and midfielder Emma Barry[1] to leave the half time score 3-3 to 0-4.
At half time, Wolstan’s gathered with their mentors, and weren’t going to give up without a fight. This showed when they scored 4 unanswered points from Reilly[2] and Barry[2] at the start of the second half. Unfortunately they let St.Aloysuis’ score a goal from a free and another point. As the game went on, St.Wolstan’s just couldn’t manage to get the goals that they really needed. Towards the end, Wolstan’s gave it their all and showed no signs of giving up. The game ended with a win for St. Aloysuis 4-4, St.Wolstan’s 0-8. The girls from St.Wolstan’s did their school proud. Thanks to their mentors Mr.Lawlor and Mr.Dooley for all the work they’ve put in with the girls.
