St. Wolstan’s Parade their Friendship with Pride
Students and staff at St. Wolstan’s downed poetic analysis, complex theorems, distillation experiments, and all the paraphernalia of “formal” education on Wed 14th Oct to hit the streets of Celbridge, spreading their message of FRIENDSHIP. In a blaze of colours and led by their tutors and volunteer teachers the students spent the mid-morning painting, applying make-up, glitter and goodness knows what in an effort to win the prize for the "Best Dressed" of their year. Judging took place in the basketball court with prefects organising the presentation, the theme music and the easy flow of over 700 students. Under the theme of Mellow Yellow the TY's supported the event by “womaning” the cross-over points ensuring that all students passed along the route safely. The Student Council also contributed to the event managing some of the key logistics matters. The fabulous, friendship walk marks the end of Friendship Week, a week dedicated to increasing student awareness about care and respect for, as well as kindness to others, in our community. The friendship committee and the walk committee dovetailed with a range of events to highlight this community development project.
Thanks to all who participated
