Hockey is the longest established sport in the school. We enter five competitive teams in Leinster and Dublin leagues every year.  There are two first year teams, one second year team, a Junior team and a  Senior team at the school.  First years train on a Monday, second years and Juniors train on Tuesdays and Seniors train twice a week on Mondays and Fridays under head coach Ms.  Kate Turley.



Michael O Grady and Pat O’Callaghan brought  Camogie to the  the school 12 years ago and the sport has grown in strength and popularity at St. Wolstan’s sine then.  We now field three teams every year in the Dublin Championship. There is a first year , a Junior and a Senior team.  Mr. Sweeney and Mr. Lawlor coach camogie in the school.  In 2005 we were Dublin A College’s Champions – a huge achievement! Training for Seniors and Juniors is on Monday after School and First years train on Thursdays after school

Gaelic Football

Tom Kiely brought Gaelic football to St. Wolstan’s when he arrived in the School.  Now ably assisted by Mr. Walsh and Mr. Kennedy the school enters the U-14, U-16 and Senior team in Kildare and Leinster Competitions. All teams train together on Tuesdays and playing numbers are very healthy.


Cross-Country/ Athletics

Ms. Mc Hale and Mr. Lawlor coach cross-country in the school while Ms. O Callaghan and Mr. Lawlor coach the track and field athletic teams. the school has enjoyed huge success in recent years in both cross country and track and field.  We have been awarded  “Best Overall Girls School” in West Leinster for track and field for five years running.  The school has a very strong tradition and success in this field of sporting endeavor.
